For us, bisque is like a child…we want
to mold and design each piece to suit the world. Be it
subtle and demure, or wild and ostentatious, we love our
pieces. No offense to any parent out there…this labor of
love begins with plain and simple bisque. We love each and
every piece, baer and naked. We dream of what they can
become; do our best to mold and shape them into our wants,
in order to fill your desires. |
|
|
With much love, each piece is hand
painted. We put our heart and soul into every single piece
we do. Creating wonderful and unique items, just for you.
You don’t see what what you like? Just ask…we will do our
best to make your dream come true. |
|
Prior to firing, each piece is hand
dipped in glaze (the stuff that makes it glossy and shiny).
After resting and drying, each piece is carefully inspected
for dribbles (don’t ask), acted upon accordingly, then sent
to the kiln where it is fired to a very high temperature
(believe me, you don’t want to sunbathe at this degree…+/-
1900 degrees) |

The processing time for firing is about
24 hours. For the pieces adorned with gold, silver or
bronze accents, this is hand painted onto the fired piece;
once dry, we re-fire the pieces to cone 019. This
firing process takes an additional 16-18 hours.

|
Once the pieces are unloaded from
the kilns, each piece is carefully inspected for any flaws which may have
occurred during firing. After being inspected, it is carefully packed and
shipped to our customers. |

Always excited, the kiln operatives
thrill us with their discoveries. We celebrate Christmas
every time we open the fiery metal machines that bring us so
much pleasure. When we open the kilns, we never know what
we will find…some days the kiln gods are happy…every now and
then they are not; though this can lead to wonderful
creations. |

We sincerely hope you are happy with
the discovery process. It truly is a labor of love. |
